Overview
Grandmaster: PsiOps Battleground: Moon is a triumph in Destiny 2. It requires completing the PsiOps Battleground: Moon Nightfall on Grandmaster difficulty. The battleground comes from Season of the Risen and was later merged into Vanguard Ops with Lightfall. It can only be launched directly during the week the Moon battleground is the Nightfall or Grandmaster Nightfall, which adds a dedicated Director node. The triumph awards no score or reward beyond its progress entry.
How to complete
- Launch PsiOps Battleground: Moon on Grandmaster difficulty from the Moon battleground Director node in the week it is the featured Nightfall.
- Clear the first stage, the Sorrow's Harbor, by clearing three waves of Lucent Hive to open the path to the Scarlet Keep.
- In the Scarlet Keep stage, defend two Imperial Psion Operants while they disrupt the Hive portal, and defeat Hive Purifiers to collect 10 Lucent Moths for the central receptacle.
- In the final stage, Za'val has immunity phases at about 66% and 33% health, when he summons Aspect of Savathûn|Aspects of Savathûn]]. Pick up Synaptic Spears and throw them at the Aspects to strip his shield, then destroy his Ghost to finish him.
Tips
- Stay aggressive and do not let Ogres and Knights snowball. In the three-plate room, kill Wizards, collect their essence, and bank it at the plates while moving constantly.
- For the final Lightbearer Wizard fight, coordinate heavily, because Savathûn copies spawn at health gates. Use roaming Supers to clear adds and defensive Supers to damage the boss.
- Grandmaster adds Barrier and Unstoppable Champions and one weekly wildcard modifier. Bring weapons that handle both.
Status
Bungie's Update 9.7.0 patch notes deprecated Nightfall-related triumphs and metrics. Progress already earned was kept, but this triumph can no longer be earned. Grandmaster Nightfalls had already been removed as a standalone rotation with Update 9.0.0.1, when Nightfalls moved to a daily rotation, and Grandmaster now appears as a difficulty tier in the matchmaking portal.
