Nightfall Grandmaster

Overview

Nightfall Grandmaster was the hardest tier of the Nightfall strike playlist: a three-player, no-matchmaking activity with the highest recommended power (about 40 above the Pinnacle cap) and heavy modifiers.

Mechanics

• Many Champions, so seasonal anti-Champion mods are required (Anti-Barrier and Unstoppable mods during Season of the Chosen).
• Strike-specific mechanics, such as the Ignovun boss fought in multiple waves, a revive limit, and a "Darkness encroaching" timer after which deaths are permanent.
• Heavy coordination is expected.

Rewards

Better drop rates for endgame materials and Nightfall weapons, plus a chance at Adept versions of Nightfall-exclusive weapons such as The Palindrome. Adepts were only available here.

Status

With The Edge of Fate, Grandmaster Nightfalls were removed and replaced by seasonal Conquests. Many Battlegrounds and strikes have served as variants over the years.
