The Last Word Catalyst

Overview

The Last Word Catalyst records the 500 weapon final blows needed to masterwork The Last Word, an Exotic Kinetic primary Hand Cannon. It belongs to the Exotic catalyst collection.

Acquisition

Obtain the catalyst through Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, or Exotic Orders payouts in the Seasonal Hub. The weapon itself is purchased from the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower.

How to complete

After acquiring the catalyst, equip The Last Word and defeat 500 targets with it. These are weapon final blows, so avoid finishing enemies with abilities while farming progress. The objective accumulates across activities and does not require defeating other players. Fight weak combatants at close range and fire from the hip to use Fan Fire; reload between groups rather than attempting to clear an entire wave with its small magazine.

Reward

Apply the completed catalyst to The Last Word to add Killing Wind and Envious Assassin. Killing Wind temporarily improves mobility, range and handling after final blows. Envious Assassin uses kills with other weapons to overflow this weapon's magazine when it is readied.
